What do you think will happen to historic places or buildings in the future? Why?

I hope they’ll be preserved through

advanced restoration techniques and digital

archiving (like 3D scans). However, urbanization might threaten lesser-known sites unless governments prioritize conservation. Climate change is another concern—rising sea levels

could damage coastal heritage. Public awareness will be key to their survival.」

How were you taught history when you were at school?

範例:「Mostly through textbooks and memorizing dates, which felt dry. But my best memories were field trips to museums and reenactments—seeing a Qing Dynasty robe or acting in a ‘historical debate’ made the past feel alive. I wish schools used more interactive methods like these.」

(五)Are there other ways people can learn about history, apart from at school? How?

Documentaries like *The Story of China* or podcasts (*Hardcore History*) make history engaging. Social media helps too—TikTok historians explain events in 60 seconds. Even video games (*Assassin’s Creed*) recreate ancient worlds. My grandma’s wartime stories taught me more than any textbook, showing how oral history matters.」

(六)Do you think history will still be a school subject in the future? Why?

Yes, but it must adapt. History teaches critical thinking and cultural empathy—skills AI can’t replace. However, schools might

focus less on rote learning and more on analyzing trends (e.g., comparing past pandemics to COVID-19). If teachers make it relevant to today’s issues, students will see its value.」
